A major crisis that may affect President Tinubu’s chances of winning the Presidential election in Osun State has hit the All Progressives Congress following the creation of a parallel Presidential campaign structure to challenge the legitimate body led by Governor Ademola Adeleke.
A statement issued on Tuesday by some members of the state working committee including the publicity Secretary, Wole Odunola expressed strong dissatisfaction with the composition of a parallel list “which does not adequately reflect established party guidelines, due process and the principle of inclusiveness required in constituting such an important Campaign structure”.
Some chieftains of the party had announced the Governorship candidate of the party in the last Governorship election Bola Oyebamiji as Director- General and Osun State APC Chairman Tajudeen Lawal as Deputy Director-General.
The statement of some members of the state working committee made available on Tuesday noted that the composition of the Oyebamiji faction appears inconsistent with the earlier presidential directive reportedly naming Governor Adeleke as the Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council in Osun State.
Governor Adeleke had inaugurated a broad-based campaign team to drive the exercise but apparently rejected by some party chieftains who have composed another APC PCC.
The statement appealed to the leadership at both state and national levels to address the concerns without delay.
