The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has debunked reports on social media alleging that the Otuogori bridge in ogbia local government area in bayesa state, constructed by NDDC has collapsed.
The NDDC Director, Bayelsa State Office, Godknows Alamieyeseigha, while speaking with journalists at the site of the 600-metre Otuogori-Otuegwe bridge, said the report is misleading as the project was at the stage of crossing the beams.
Alamieyeseigha acknowledged that there was an incident at the construction site when one of the beams impacted others while being launched
He said the incident is being assessed but dismissed concerns that the incident resulted from structural failure.
