As part of its efforts to tackle the increasing rise in insecurity, crimes and criminality, the Niger Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps began the enforcement of Operation GUDUMA Phase II in compliance with the directive of the Corps Marshal, Shehu Muhammed.
The 5-day enforcement is part of the Corps’ renewed commitment to addressing security concerns associated with the use of fake, covered, defaced, and obsolete vehicle number plates, including fake diplomatic number plates across the country.
To ensure the effective implementation of Operation GUDUMA Phase II in Niger State, the Corps Commander, Aishat Saadu, said the command has deployed personnel and operational resources across identified strategic locations, highways, and major traffic corridors within the state.

During the enforcement drive around the old city gate axis, officers found some motorists with defaced and obsolete number plates.
While enforcing the operation, Commander Saadu warned officers and men to be more civil and disciplined and follow all operational guidelines to ensure success.
She also used the medium to educate Nigerians on the differences in the number plate offences being enforced.

Commander Saadu therefore advised motorists to remain calm, cooperate with enforcement officers, and obey all lawful directives, stressing that no one should engage in any act capable of obstructing officers or disrupting the free flow of traffic.
