The Office of the National Security Adviser says Nigeria has secured 791 additional terrorism convictions, including a death sentence for Boko Haram member Suleiman Abu over deadly attacks on military facilities and civilians.
The National Counter Terrorism Centre announced the results in Abuja following the conclusion of the eleventh phase of trials, bringing total convictions across all phases to 2,512.
The centre says the Federal High Court in Abuja found Abu guilty of Boko Haram membership and participation in attacks that caused deaths and serious injuries.
Ten courts handled 1,069 cases during the latest phase, recording seven acquittals and 41 discharges.
The exercise also covered 201 terrorism-financing cases, targeting networks that provide resources for weapons, recruitment and attacks.
