Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued nine kidnapped victims and recovered 34 cows and 74 rams during security operations in the Danko general area and Sabon Tunga and Binoni villages in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
In a statement issued on November 3, 2026, the Acting Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force said troops of Sector Two responded to a distress call following an attack by suspected bandits who kidnapped residents and rustled livestock in the Danko general area.

The troops immediately mobilised to the scene and engaged the suspected bandits, forcing them to flee and abandon their captives.
Following the encounter, two kidnapped victims were rescued, while 34 cows and 74 rams were recovered.
In a related operation on the same day, troops rescued seven additional kidnapped victims from Sabon Tunga and Binoni villages.

The victims, who reportedly spent several months in captivity, managed to escape from their abductors amid sustained military operations in the area.
The Joint Task Force says it remains committed to protecting lives and property across its joint operations area.
