NYESOM WIKE

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, and former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar have nothing to offer Nigerians, insisting that neither can provide credible alternative leadership.

Wike made the remarks on Thursday during his monthly media chat in Abuja, where he expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s political strength and prospects ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The minister also visited Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, where he engaged stakeholders of the Rainbow Coalition political family.

The FCT Minister began his political engagement in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area with a visit to the traditional institution in Abonnema, where he discussed President Bola Tinubu’s reforms with the paramount ruler and his council of chiefs.

His next stop was a town hall meeting attended by political and traditional leaders, as well as stakeholders of the Rainbow Coalition.

Addressing the gathering, Wike urged the Kalabari people not to make what he described as the wrong choice in the forthcoming elections, insisting that opposition candidates have nothing meaningful to offer.

Earlier on Thursday, during his monthly media chat, the minister criticised opponents of the Rainbow Coalition, accusing them of pursuing selfish interests.

Wike maintained that President Bola Tinubu remains the most viable candidate in the forthcoming presidential election and urged the people of Rivers State to support his re-election bid.
