With a few days to the February 12 FCT area council elections, some registered voters are yet to collect their voters’ cards due to what they described as “unnecessary delay by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC”.
Residents of Gwagwalada Area Council have therefore, appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to intensify efforts at ensuring that all eligible voters get their permanent Voter Cards.
Some registered voters were seen trying to obtain their CARDS when AITOnline visited Gwagwalada INEC office, to ascertain the true situation, an electoral officer, Shamsudeen Musa countered the allegations of delay by INEC officials in issuing voter cards.

He assured residents of the commission’s readiness for the elections.
169,707 registered voters are expected to vote in the 338 units selected from the ten wards in Gwagwalada Area Council.
