The National Assembly ad-hoc committee on the review of the 1999 constitution amendment says it will dwell on areas of concerns raised by Nigerians as it works towards passing the bill before the 9th session winds down in 2023.
The federal lawmakers stated this at the 2-day joint retreat on further alterations to the provision of the nation’s constitution.
The legislators say they will put heads together to tidy up in delivering a document that will meet the yearnings of the people before the end of the 9th assembly.
Others believe that issues that have created worry for Nigerians since the amendment of the 1999 constitution over ten years ago will reflect in the final document that will be sent to president Muhammadu buhari for assent.

The committees in the constitution amendment proceeding was disrupted by the Covid-19 Pandemic which affected timelines and made it difficult to deliver on the mandate promised to Nigerians by the federal lawmakers.
The 2-day joint retreat is a usual proceeding at the lifetime of every national assembly session, mandated to look at documents that governs the operations of delivering a strong democracy for the nation.
