As the battle for the vacant Jos north/Bassa seat in the house of representatives heightens, residents of the area want the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to ensure it conducts a free, fair and credible election.
A cross section of people who spoke to AITOnline say anything short of that will not be accepted by the electorate.
Jos north and Bassa local governments of Plateau state are areas which have been the major flash points in the state as a result of incessant attacks on villages and ethno-religious crises which has plagued the region for sometime.
The constituency has for sometime been denied a representative at the green Chamber following the demise of Hon Haruna Dantala.

With the primaries of the political parties concluded, all is now set for the bye election.
Political analysts say this is another opportunity for INEC to prove to Nigerians that it has the capacity to conduct a credible exercise.
