Lovers In Police Net For Fake Kidnapping

A seventeen year old girl chidiadi chukwuemeka and her lover have been arrested by the Edo State police for faking her kidnap.

The duo who reside around the new Benin market Axis of Benin metropolis were arrested three days after the young girl was declared missing by her guardian.

The seventeen year old girl is living with her brother Kingsley Chukwuemeka around the new Benin area.
On the 26h of January, she was sent to buy fuel for home use but never returned but a call came through her phone that she had been kidnapped and a Ransome of five hundred thousand naira was demanded.

She however arrived home three days later with the empty gallon of fuel and the money given to her to purchase the fuel despite her guardian not paying the Ransome demanded.

The Police Public Relations Officer Kontongs Bello says the suspicious nature of the girl’s arrival got the brother to alert the police

Emmanuel Christopher, a native of Idegun in Etsako West local government is Chidiadi’s lover and he says he regrets the fake kidnapping planned and executed by the both of them.

The State Commissioner of Police Philip Ogbadu, who pledged his willingness to sustain the tempo in sweeping criminals away from the state, advised members of the public to give the police useful information at all times.
