Kwara hijab Crisis: Baptist conference calls for thorough investigation on the recent crisis

As the controversy over the wearing of hijab in Christian-mission-grant-aided schools across Kwara state continues, the State Baptist Conference has called for thorough investigation to fishout and appropriately prosecute hoodlums who foment trouble at the Oyun Baptist High School Ijagbo where one person was reported dead.

The President of the Kwara Baptist Conference, Victor Dada made the call during a press briefing in Ilorin the Kwara State capital where he condemned the act, alleging that the State government has been foot-dragging on returning the grant-aided schools to their proprietors.

Against the claim by the kwara muslim stakeholders that the state government compensated Christians in the state over the 2021 hijab crisis, Dada denied the allegation.

Both religious bodies in the state are keenly waiting for the state government to find lasting solution to the lingering crisis.
