Federal Medical Centre Keffi to give unclaimed corpses mass burial

The Federal Medical Centre Keffi says it will hold a mass burial in two weeks time for corpses that have been deposited at its mortuary for periods of almost two years and upwards

The public relations officer of the medical facility Mohammed Adamu who disclosed this in a press statement said 10 unclaimed corpses brought to the medical centre between the year 2018 and 2020 by the officers of the Nigerian Police Force and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to are still lying at the mortuary, exceeding the time limit of six months permitted by law.

The statement further said the Management of the medical centre has advised members of the public whose loved ones either died or went missing during the period indicated to visit the Hospital for possible identification and collection.

The Federal Medical Centre Keffi says with this notification, any of the said corpses which remain unclaimed two weeks after the February 15 date of the statement will be given a mass burial.
