After years of anticipation, some of artefacts stolen from Benin Kingdom during the colonial era are now being returned to the palace of the Oba of Benin.
The physical handing of the artefacts including the “Okpa Cockerel” and the bronze burst of an Oba (Uhunilo) is sequel to the signing of documentation by the Oba of Benin, some of his chiefs and the Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom,Tunji Ishola.

This is in accordance with the British law after authorities in London handed ovef to the artefacts to the Nigerian envoy to be returned home.
