The Investigative Panel constituted by the Zamfara State Chief Judge, Justice Kulu Aliyu, has concluded its sitting.

The sitting ended after the timeline given to the respondent to appear before the panel to respond to the allegations against him expired on Tuesday.

The 7-member Investigative Panel assured the public that it will be fair and just to all the parties.

A member of the probe panel, Abdul Ibrahim, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, who addressed journalists on behalf of the Chairman said, the panel has given both parties, the opportunity to present their cases.

He said they will critically look at the testimonies and documentary evidence.

He also said that Deputy Governor Mahdi Gusau, who is the respondent in the matter, was, however, absent during the sitting.

Ibrahim said the probe panel listened to testimonies and evidence presented by the Zamfara State House of Assembly, which is the complainant, and thereafter went into deliberations.

He noted that the panel has three months within which to carry out its assignment and submit its report to the Zamfara State House of Assembly.

The lead counsel to the complainant, Nasiru Jangebe, addressed the probe panel and highlighted the testimonies and matters for deliberation.

Members of the probe panel have said that they were not served any court order, saying that if they were, they would have obeyed it.
