The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has accused the Federal Government of neglecting all the issues agreed upon in its last meeting in October, forcing the union to resume its suspended strike, which started February 14.
ASUU President, Emmanuel Osodeke, re-emphasized these claims at the opening of talks with the Federal Government, presided over by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige.
The labour and Employment Minister noted that conclusions were drawn at the October meeting, but no agreements were reached, concerning the issues raised.

The Minister also noted that the government has been in correspondence with the union, as to the progress of the conclusions made.
He further emphasised the government’s readiness to resolve the issues.
Both parties are in a closed-door session as at the time of filing this report.
