President Muhammadu Buhari has sworn in six newly appointed national Commissioners for the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The Brief ceremony was witnessed by the Senate President Ahmed lawan, Speaker house of representatives Femi Gbajabiamila, and National security adviser Babagana Monguno.
The six INEC commissioners that took oath of office were Mallam Mohammed Haruna from Niger State, Mary Agbamuche -Mbu from Delta state, Ukaegbu Kenneth Nnamdi from Abia, Major General AB Alkali( Rtd) from Adamawa, Prof Rhoda Gumus from Bayelsa state and Mr Sam Olumekun from Ondo state.
Meanwhile the President is chairing the Weekly Virtual Federal Executive Council meeting at the council chambers of Presidential Villa Abuja.
Physically present at the meeting are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha and Chief of Staff to the President, Prof Ibrahim Gambari.

The meeting has twelve ministers in attendance.
They are: Ministers of labor and productivity Chris Ngige, his state counterpart Festus Keyamo, Minister of Science and technology Ogbonnaya Onu and his state counterpart Mohammed , Transport Rotimi Amaechi, Information and Culture Lai Mohammed, Mines and steel development Olamilekan Adegbite and his state counterpart Uche Ogar, Minister of Power and his state counterpart Jeddy Agba Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola, Minister of State Finance, Budget and National Planning among others.
The Head of Service Folashade Yemi-Esan and Other minister are attending the meeting virtually from their various offices in Abuja
The council is expected to deliberate on memos emanating from the Various Ministers in attendance and give approvals.
