Offa Bank Robbery: Indigenes protest delay in trial of suspects.

Indigenes of Offa in Offa local government area of Kwara state have staged a protest at the Kwara State Government House, over what they say is the unnecessary delay in the trial of suspects in the April 5, 2018 armed robbery incident in the state, which claimed thirty- three lives including police officers.

The protesters say they would not relent until the culprits in the unfortunate incident are punished accordingly .

The protesters who were at the Government House, to see the state governor say they have come to seek justice for those who lost their lives on that faithful day and their families.

Addressing the protesters on behalf of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the state attorney general and commissioner for Justice, Barrister Salman Jawondo SAN, while acknowledging the right of persons to protest said the case is still pending before a court of competent jurisdiction, noting that action can only be taken after the court final pronouncement .

All the five suspects in the 2018 Offa bank robbery, Ayoade Akinnibosun, Ibikunle Ogunleye, Adeola Abraham, Azeez Salawu and Niyi Ogundiran are all standing trial before Justice Haleema Salman of the Kwara state High Court, Ilorin.
