The Edo state police command says it has recovered a cash sum of thirty-four million, five hundred and ten thousand Naira alleged to have been stolen by bank robbers who attacked several banks in Uromi on Thursday,25 February 2022.
The police public relations officer Kontongs Bello in a signed statement said police operatives in collaboration with local vigilantes, the Oniha of Ubiaja Chief John Odigie got credible information on Friday, 25 February 2022, that some of the vehicles suspected to have been used by the robbers had been abandoned in a bush around Oruen Quarters in Ubiaja, Esan South East Local government area of Edo state.
According to the police spokesman, Security agencies blocked all the exit routes linking Ubiaja and Uromi towns forcing the robbers to escape, leaving behind the vehicles and cash.
