World and European Football Governing Bodies FIFA and UEFA have both suspended Russia’s National and Club Teams from all Competitions until further notice due to the Kremlin’s Invasion of Ukraine.
This latest action by the two most powerful football Institutions in the world is a further strengthening of calls for global sports bodies to make Russia a sporting pariah due to its attack on the sovereignty of its neighbour.

The country by implication will not be able to face Poland in a World Cup qualifier play-off semi-final scheduled for next month.
The women’s national team will not be taking part in the European Championships in the summer and Spartak Moscow which parades former Super Eagles Winger and 2013 AFCON Winner Victor Moses has lost their place in the Europa League.
Meanwhile, UEFA has terminated its deal with Russian-owned energy company Gazprom; a major sponosr of the Champions League.
UEFA’s action ends the deal which is worth around £33.4m (€40m) per season and has been existing since 2012.
