Oyo state governor Seyi Makinde on thursday in the ancient city of Ibadan officially presented the staff and instrument of office to the forty second Olubadan of ibadan land Oba Olalekan Ishola, Ali-Okunmade the second.
The governor while making the presentation in the presence of dignitaries including vice President Yemi Osinbajo who represented president Muhammadu Buhari at the ceremony described the coronation of the forty second monarch as victory for all sons and daughters of Ibadan land.
The coronation was graced by sons and daughters of Ibadan as they came out in their numbers to embrace the new ruler.
Nigeria’s vice president, Prof Yemi Osinbajo while felicitating with the people of ibadan said Ibadan remains a pacesetter town.
Governor, makinde urged traditional rulers in the state to remain custodians of the culture and traditions of the land.
The newly coronated Olubadan, Oba Olalekan Balogun, Ali-Okunmade the second thanked all the guests for their support.
The event held at the ancient mapo hall in the presence of well wishers from across Nigeria.
