Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami says the deletion of section 84 Subsection 12 of the Electoral Act 2022 is a work in progress and is being considered as such.
Malami while fielding questions from State House correspondents on Wednesday at the end of the weekly federal executive council meeting at the state house Abuja said government printers, Law Reform Commission among other agencies responsible for the codification and gazetting of the nations law are working closely to remove the section.

The Abia State division of the Federal High Court sitting in Umuahia had Friday last week ordered the Attorney-General of the Federation, to delete Section 84 (12) of the amended Electoral Act without delay.
