A combined team of police Operatives of the Edo state command and the vigilante on Friday rescued eleven kidnapped victims from their Kidnappers at Uteh forest along the Benin Bye pass in the state.
The rescued victims including a military personnel were passengers of two vehicles traveling from Enugu and Ogoja to Lagos state.
According to the police public relations officer Kontongs Bello, four of the rescued victims including a military personnel were the first set kidnapped on Monday 21st of march on their way to Lagos from Enugu.
The victims narrated how they were ambushed by some men at about two am at the Uteh Axis of the Benin bye pass despite warnings to the driver not to go through the route which was notorious for Kidnappings.
The other set of rescued victims who were traveling from Ogoja in cross River state to Lagos also narrated how they were kidnapped on Friday morning even when they had to sleep in a hotel in Benin to continue their journey.
Items recovered from the Kidnappers who escaped included ; fake guns made with wood, one cutlass, a dagger and two mobile phones while efforts were ongoing to apprehend the Kidnappers.
