Police arrest suspected kidnapper, terrorists’ food supplier in Niger State

The Police in Niger State have apprehended a suspected kidnapper in Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State, North-Central Nigeria.

The suspect, one twenty-five-year-old Bello Ibrahim, of Bafarawa Community, in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State, was among other members of his team, who invaded Tudun-Wada, Kaboji and Ukachi communities, and abducted some persons to an unknown destination.

The suspect who is a member of a five-man kidnap gang was arrested by the Police Tactical Team attached to Mashegu Division, with the aid of vigilante members.

The Tactical Team rescued two abducted victims, a male and a female.

The Police also intercepted a suspected terrorists’ food and drinks supplier.

The suspect, Umar Dauda, of Fulani Camp, was arrested at Kapako Village, in Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State, North-Central Nigeria.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent Of Police, Wasiu Abiodun, said that items recovered from the suspect include six loaves of bread, four bottles of energy drinks, five cans of soft drinks, and four wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

Others include some quantity of rice and beans and ninety thousand Naira.

The twenty-year-old suspect, the statement added, had been supplying the terrorists with food items.

The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, Bala Kuryas, advised members of the public to assist the Police with reliable information, that will lead to the arrest of terrorists, in all parts of the state.
