Efforts to reform and modernised the Nigeria Immigration Service, (NIS), are currently underway.
The reform is aimed at increasing internal efficiency, productivity and fairness among the staff of the service.
This First Quarter meeting of the Technical Working Committee On Modernising Nigeria Immigration Service, held in Kano, is birthed out of a joint capacity-building collaboration, with the International Centre for Migration and Policy Development.
It is aimed at building and sustaining a quality workforce.
Assistant Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, in charge of Border Management, Muhammad Aminu, said the service will continue to demonstrate a huge commitment to capacity building of the workforce, for enhanced productivity and workplace harmony.

He said presently, they are working on three key innovative areas, that will bring about the desired reforms in the service.
Personnel of the service were also charged to take good advantage of the project to improve themselves and make quality contributions to the service, and the country as a whole.
The quarterly meeting was attended by professionals from different sectors of the civil service.
