The Conference of Civil society of Nigeria wants government to create a link between the Contributory Pension Scheme and national security in Nigeria.
The Chairman conference of civil society of Nigeria, Adams Otakwu, made the appeal during a news briefing on Thursday in Abuja.

The conference of civil society of Nigeria say the impact of the Contributory Pension Scheme on National Security had prompted Government to allow withdrawal from the CPS for only the Military and Intelligence Services, which are by virtue of Section 5 of the Pension Reform Act (2014) is exempted from the CPS.
Civil society believes that such arrangement is necessary in order to galvanize greater participation of eligible citizens and security operatives.
The CSO insists that the statistics of pension fund assets under the Contributory Pension Scheme have contributed immensely to the development of the country.
