No fewer than 3 persons were feared dead, while several others sustained injuries as terrorists operating in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State launched a broad daylight attack on the YanTumaki Friday Market.
A source said, the terrorists stormed the market shooting sporadically as traders and buyers scampered for safety.
They said one person died instantly and another old man who was trying to escape also died as a result of a suspected heart attack.
Several others who sustained injuries are receiving treatment.
Police spokesman, Superintendent Gambo Isah, confirmed the incident, but said he had no details.
Danmusa is one of the 11 Frontline Local Government Areas in Katsina, sharing boundaries with the dreaded Rugu Forest and areas like Safana, Kankara and other communities, where terrorists activities are very active in Zamfara State.
