Emergency responders from the National Emergency Management Agency,(NEMA), it’s state counterpart, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency as well as fire fighters early Sunday battled for several hours to curtail the spread of fire that engulfed a section of a popular plank market located at Eran Bus stop, Ogba, Lagos.
The fire incident which started at about 3.30 am saw Ikeja fire station and Alausa stations respond with back up from other emergency responders due to the intensity and nature of the combustible materials involved.
Though no life was lost nor anyone sustaining injuries, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
This fire incident which is one too many in the state is a major concern for everyone .
According to the south west coordinator, NEMA Ibrahim Farinloye, the Agency has reintensified it’s efforts to sensitise members of the public on preventive measures to avert possible fire outbreaks.
