The International community of women living with HIV/ AIDS west africa, ICWWA, has canvassed for an increased media awareness campaign that focuses on Sexual and reproductive health for person living with the virus.
Leader of the group, Helen Akpan, made the suggestion during an advocacy visit to management of DAAR Communications plc at its corporate headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.
Akpan says there was need to empower women and girls living with HIV with reproductive health information and services to be able to make informed reproductive health choices.
She also noted that the ICWWA, through the support of Robert Car foundation has helped to ensure that contraceptives are available to help address the challenges of unplanned pregnancies among rape victims
The Head of corporate communications of the Abuja office of DAAR COMMUNICATIONS Plc, Christabel Okah, assured the visitors of daar management’s support in all their activities.
The group presented awards of recognition to the African Independent Television, AIT, while the ambassador of hope award was presented to the managing director, AIT, TOSIN DOKPESI, for her contributions toward the elimination of mother to child transmission of HIV.
