Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku says the latest employment of 2000 youths into the State Civil Service is targeted at filling the vacuum in the state’s workforce, as no massive employments have been made since the creation of the state in 1991.
Governor Darius Ishaku is hopeful that the new employees will inject new ideas into the civil service that will enhance productivity.

It is the first massive employment of youths in the Taraba State Civil Service since the creation of the state in 1991.
Aside from filling the vacuum created due to retirements, deaths or resignations of old civil servants, the employment has taken additional 2000 youths off the Labour Market, in addition to the earlier employment of 3000 teachers.
Governor Darius Ishaku says, all sections of the state were carried along in the employment exercise, as each of the 168 wards has its youths employed, based on merit.
He adds that the exercise has broken a 31-year jinx of non-open and transparent employment in the state’s civil service.
The Head of Service, Suzy Nathan, and the Board Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, John Mamman, tasked the new employees on work ethics, and commitment to duty.
The new set of employees in the Taraba State Civil Service are to also benefit from the affordable housing scheme, initiated and set up by the state government.
