A Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in Adamawa State has been abducted by gunmen.
Adamawa Police spokesman, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed this in an interview with AIT.
Nguroje said DPO Ahijo Mujeli in charge of Mubi North was driving in his personal car around 8:30 to 9:00pm when he was abducted by gunmen along Mubi- Maraba road.
Sound of gunshots were heard around the area but by the time the policemen arrived, just an empty car identified as that of the DPO was discovered.
The spokesman of the Command said efforts are in place to trail the suspected kidnappers.
