The Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA has expressed annoyance and disappointment at the failure of the Federal Government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari to tame insecurity in the country. The Church said the government has failed to carry out its constitutional responsibility of securing the lives and properties of the citizens despite the huge amount of money being spent on security.

This is contained in a communiqué presented by President of the church, Reverend Stephen Baba Panyam, at the end of its 69th General Church Council meeting held at its headquarters in Jos, the Plateau State capital, North-Central Nigeria.

The Church also expressed worry over the conspicuous silence by the Federal Government under the leadership of President Buhari and its reluctance to descend heavily on terrorists.

The ECWA President on behalf of the Church condemned in strong terms the recent attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train including the killing and abduction of many of the passengers by the terrorists. He equally frowned at the invasion of the Kaduna International Airport, and the constant killings and abductions of citizens in Kaduna, Kebbi, Zamfara, Plateau, Niger and other states across the country.

The Church Council while also condemning the continuous activities of terrorist groups including Fulani jihadist militia, Boko- Haram, ISWAP and bandits terrorising the North, Middle Belt and other parts of the country called on all tiers of government to do all that must be done to secure the release of all abducted victims and bring to a halt the activities of terrorists in the country.

On the persistent strike by ASUU, ASUP and other labour unions, the Church observed that the country has for many years being bogged down by myriad of problems, including constant industrial actions embarked upon by many labour unions.

The Church therefore, appealed to the government and the striking unions to put the interest of the country first and resolve the industrial crisis as soon as possible adding that this would stop the idle students from being easily recruited by terrorists, kidnappers, bandits, cultists and other criminals.
