Governor Diri who spoke at separate courtesy visits of heads of some security agencies to Government House, Yenagoa called on the Federal Government to redouble its efforts at combating insecurity, particularly in the northern parts of the country.

The security chiefs came separately to the Bayelsa state government house but on the same mission.

The two security chiefs that visited were newly redeployed to the Niger Delta state of Bayelsa and their visit to the Creek Haven was to formerly present themselves to the chief security officer of the state, Governor, Douye Diri.

One issue that dominated discussions in all the meetings was the worsening security situation across the country and the way forward.

The security heads were the Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Bayelsa command Sunday James and the Flag Officer Commanding FOC Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas.

They pledged to contribute significantly towards sustaining the peace and development of the state.

In a related development, Governor Diri was decorated as an ambassador against drug abuse by the state command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, Commander Aminu Ali.
