The Independent National Electoral Commission says it lost over one thousand permanent voter cards during the attack on it’s staff by gunmen at Nkwo Ihitte in Ihitte Uboma local government area of Imo State.
Briefing Journalists in Owerri, the Imo State capital, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Francis Ezeonu said the suspension of continuous voter registration exercise by the commission because of insecurity in Njaba, Orsu and Ihitte Uboma local government areas has not been lifted by the commission.
The commission however advised residents within the three affected local government areas who are yet to register, to visit local government areas of their choice to carry out the exercise.
