Marginalisation of women and youths, electoral violence including vote buying have been identified as some of the major challenges to the electoral process in Nigeria.
This position was reached on Friday in Ado Ekiti at a one day multi stakeholders conference on increasing youths voter turnout during elections in Nigeria.

In the 2018 Governorship Election in Ekiti state, less than 43 percent of the registered Voters came out to vote.
Worried by the development, INEC and other concerned interest groups are already engaged in finding solutions to the challenges of voter apathy.
Other stakeholders at the summit tasked residents to shun electoral violence and be actively involved in the electoral processes.
Festus Okoye said the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, will continue to ensure improvements in the electoral processes in the days ahead of the governorship election in the state and the general elections in 2023.
