Amidst tears and wailing, the body of late Elizabeth Nwankwegu Ebenyim, mother in-law of former Senator Sylvanus Ngele was lowered to mother earth on Friday, at her husband’s compound, Obulechi Agbaja Unuphu, in Abakaliki, the Ebonyj State capital.
Aged 102 years, the burial ceremony attracted dignitaries from all walks of life.
At the grave side, family members took turns to pay last respect to the deceased who died on 30th of December, 2021.
Hundreds of mourners defied an early morning shower to participate at the funeral mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Godwin Uguru of the Holy Rosary Parish, Agalegu Amachi.

The son in-law of late Madam Elizabeth Ebenyim, Senator Sylvanus Ngele and his political associates, were among dignitaries at the burial event.

The late Elizabeth Nwankwegu Ebenyim is survived by four children, thirty grand children, and seventy-seven great grand children.
