Workers day: Governor Okowa to clear backlog of pension entitlements

Delta State Governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa says the State workforce have every cause to be part of this year’s Workers Day Celebration as his administration has kept its promises to it’s workers through the implementation of promotion packages and employments of new workers where there exists vacuum.

Reminding workers of their place in nurturing and sustainance of dreams and aspirations of government being an engine room of administrative procedures and bureaucracy, Governor Okowa said presently, his government is making efforts to pay backlog of pensioners entitlements.

With a promise not to embark on any mission to the detriment of the future of the state, Okowa thanked leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC) and their affiliates and other labour and consultative unions in Delta state for their understanding and cooperation noting that the journey of making Delta great is a collective one.
