Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has announced an upward review of the State’s minimum wage from the current thirty thousand Naira to forty thousand Naira in commemoration of the 2022 Workers Day celebration which held at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin City.
Addressing the workers at the ceremony which had as its theme: Labour, Politics and The Quest For Good Governance and Development in Nigeria, Governor Obaseki says the decision was informed by the harsh economic challenges in the country.

The Governor also noted that his administration places premium on pensioners welfare.
He emphasised that the State Government will continue to focus on human capacity development.
