Bauchi Gov. urges traditional rulers to use culture as tool for unity

Bauchi State Government has asked traditional rulers to use their various cultural heritages to foster peace and unity among the people of different beliefs and faith.

Governor Bala Mohammed gave the charge, during the Sallah Durbar, organized by the Bauchi Emirate Council.

The traditional horse riding, popularly known as, “Hawan Bariki,” is usually performed by traditional title holders, who adorn different traditional regalia, as part of the Sallah celebration.

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, alongside other top government officials, as well as hundreds of spectators, watched keenly, the various cultural displays by traditional title holders, hunters and warriors among others, as they paid homage and respect to the governor.

Bala Mohammed commended the Bauchi State Emirate Council for sustaining the state’s cultural heritage.

He called on them to use their cultural values to foster peace and unity.

He said such events, when properly guided and harnessed, will help in boosting the internally generated revenue of the state.

Leading the over forty-two District Heads, the Emir of Bauchi, Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, commended and appreciated the governor for the execution of various developmental projects across the state.

He assured him of their unalloyed support, and the success of the administration.
