The crises rocking Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF, on Thursday took a new twist as the country’s President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday sanctioned the withdrawal of the various National Teams from all International Competitions for a period of two years.
This new development was disclosed to the media by the Minister of Youth and Development who was represented by Permanent Secretary Ismaila Abubakar stated that the period of isolation from Basketball World will afford the authourities the opportunity to revamp and revive the sport from the grassroots up to the domestic leagues which has suffered largely due to the unending crisis.
Consequently, the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF, will be taken over by an Interim Management Committee, IMC, which will oversee the management of the game in Nigeria.

Following the unending crises that have plagued and nearly crippled basketball development in the country, President Muhammadu Buhari has today approved the immediate withdrawal of Nigeria from all international basketball competitions for a period of two years.
This was made known today by the permanent secretary of Federal Ministry Of Youth And Sports Development, Ismaila Abubakar.
