An early Tuesday morning explosion in Kano State, North-West Nigeria has left at least nine people dead.
The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, says five more people have died from the incident after the initial four casualties.
The deadly gas explosion occurred along Aba Road by Court Road in Sabon Gari area of Kano State capital.

The Kano State Government explains that the explosion occurred opposite a private school and not in the school as widely reported.
