At least four persons were said to have been killed in violence at Dei-Dei market in Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC following a misunderstanding among the traders on Wednesday.
FCT Minister, Muhammad Bello, gave the figure when he visited the scene of the crisis on Wednesday.
The deadly violence is said to have been triggered by the death of a female passenger in an accident involving two commercial motorcycles.
Bello who immediately visited the market on Wednesday expressed worry that Nigerians
have yet not learnt how to manage their differences before they degenerate to crisis.

He said government is dissatisfied with the quick resort to violence by the traders which led to the death of four persons and has therefore ordered the closure of the Dei-Dei market indefinitely.
The leadership of Dei-Dei community and the market all appealed to government
for the deployment of more security personnel to the area to ensure the protection of lives and property.
The Minister while assuring members of the community and the traders of government’s continued protection of lives and property in the area however called on the leaders to help in identifying the masterminds of Wednesday’s crisis in the market.
