One week after the gruesome killing of Deborah Samuel at the Shehu Shagari College of Education Sokoto and the mayhem that ensued, the christian community in the north west state have held special prayers for peace

The prayers held at the resumption of Sunday services after the suspension of activities in Sokoto Metropolis following last weekend’s violent protests calling for the release of suspects arrested in connection to Deborah’s death

Last Sunday, the Christian community in Sokoto Metropolis could not hold their Sunday Services due to the violence protests staged by Muslim youths in support of the killing of Deborah Samuel, Student of Shehu Shagari college of education, Sokoto and demanding the immediate release of the two suspects arrested in connection with the incident.

The situation is different this Sunday the 22nd May, 2022 as Christians trooped out in their numbers to their various churches in the Sokoto Metropolis, where the messages were centered on peace as a critical ingredient for development and the need for faithfuls to seek to promote it among all Nigerians.

For some worshipers, the freedom to go about their religious obligations without any cause for fear is what they seek.

Worshipers took time out to pray to God’s to intervene in the current security and economic challenges the Country is grappling with and the restoration of peace.
