Primaries:Former PDP Chairman, Ex-Speaker win Senatorial Tickets in Cross River

Former Cross River State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ntufam Ekpo Okon Former Speaker of the State House of Assembly and ex federal lawmaker,Bassey Ewa and Incubent Senator representing Cross Tiver North In the National Assembly, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe have all won the PDP tickets to content as Candidates of the party in 2023 General elections.

The candidates of the partt all won their tickets amidst stiff competitions with their Co-contestants in both Southern,Central and Northern Senatorial District of Cross River State.

Announcing the results of the primary election, held at Vanecia Arena in Calabar, The Returning Officer, Festus Ebude, said Ekpo scored 186 votes to beat his only rival Joe Edet who scored 47 votes.

In his remarks, Ekpo Okon, who is also a former Commissioner for Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), commended the party’s delegates who voted for him, saying it was a healthy competition

The State Publicity Secretary of the party ,Mike Ojisi also Confirmed that former Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly Bassey Ewa and Incubent Senator, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe both won their tickets to fly the party’s ticket into the upper legislative house of the National Assembly.

Also a five term house of representatives member,pastor Essein Ayi also won the ticket for the Calabar South/Akpabuyo/Barassie Federal Constituency.
