A combined security operation of the Nigerian Army and Nigeria police have repelled a bandit attack along the Abuja-Kaduna Road and in the process rescued 3 kidnap victims and recovered 8 bandits’ operational motorcycles.
In a statement signed by the Kaduna State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police Mohammed Jalinge, “the Joint Police and Military Operation Puff Adder and Operation Thunder Strike intercepted a group of bandits at Sabon Sara village, attempting to gain access to the Kaduna-Abuja Highway.
The operatives observed the suspicious movement of the bandits and courageously took the battle to them, where a severe exchange of fire ensued, with the bandits scampering for safety, resulting in the rescue of a Chinese expatriate and two others, while abandoning eight of their operational motorcycles”
According to the statement, the victims have been taken to a hospital for medical attention, while items recovered from the bandits are being analyzed.
The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, CP Yekin Ayoku, applauded the commitment and synergy between the Police and other security agencies and encouraged officers at all levels to sustain the same for the interest of public safety.
