Ebonyi state governor Dave Umahi, has taken a swipe on the country’s political setting, saying it is skewed against his ethnic Igbo people.

Governor Umahi who was one of the presidential aspirants of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC but lost in the contest contends that the outcome of the recently concluded Presidential Primaries of Nigeria’s two major political parties was a clear proof of his assertion.

The event of the maiden matriculation ceremony of the pioneer undergraduate students of newly established King David University of Medical Sciences, Uburu is the first public appearance of Governor Dave Umahi, after the just concluded presidential primary election of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

It is a rousing welcome for Umahi by his political supporters , on his first return from Nigeria’s seat of power, Abuja where he had gone to seek election as the APC presidential flag bearer

The Governor, says he fought a good fight even though he lost the contest.

The Governor expressed regrets that the just concluded PDP and APC presidential primaries was a lost opportunity for the Igbos to make a political statement.

Umahi believes that the outcome of the primaries of the major dominant political parties in Nigeria confirms the fact that the country’s political structure is against the Igbo man.

The Governor congratulated the 54 students commencing academic pursuits in the King David University of Medical Sciences, as the institution marks it’s maiden matriculation.

The matriculation is coming barely a month after Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, inaugurated the specialized medical institution during his two days official working visit to Ebonyi state.
