Victims of Igama massacre in Benue laid to rest

Victims of Sunday’sr Igama massacre in Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State, North-Central Nigeria have been laid to rest amidst tears after a funeral mass was held in their honour.

Senator representing Benue South, Abba Moro described the mindless killing of some of his constituents as barbaric and an act of cowardice.

He said he would never fold his hands and watch his people get killed and sacked from their ancestral homes by external aggressors.

Senator Moro said he would continue to work with the State Government and security agencies to put to an end the murderous activities of killer herdsmen in the district.

The Senator enjoined the people, especially the youths, not to take laws in their hands but to always be on alert to partner with security agents to provide security for their communities.

Igama community of Edumoga, in Okpokwu LGA of the State was attacked on Sunday morning by suspected herdsmen resulting in the death of dozens,several injured and displaced with properties worth millions
destroyed.
