Just In: Terrorists launch deadly attack on Catholic Church in Kaduna State

KADUNA

Gunmen suspected to be terrorists have killed three worshippers and abducted an unspecified number of worshippers at Saint Moses Catholic Church and Maranatha Baptist Church in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, North-West Nigeria.

The Kaduna State Government has confirmed the attack on the two churches.

According to a statement by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, the terrorists stormed the communities on motorcycles, beginning from Ungwan Fada, and moving into Ungwan Turawa, before Ungwan Makama and then Rubu.

The statement noted that the terrorists attacked worshippers at the Maranatha Baptist Church and St Moses Catholic Church in Rubu, killing three worshippers.

The victims were identified as the Ward Head of Ungwan Fada, Peter Madaki; the Youth Leader of Rubu, Ali Zamani, and another resident of Ungwan Fada, Elisha Ezekiel.

The statement further states that two persons were injured in the attacks while an unspecified number of locals were abducted by the terrorists.

Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe who condemned the attack, expressed sadness and condoled with the families of the victims.
