The police in Abuja the Federal Capital Territory, is yet to unravel the cause of death of Yomi Kazeem a reporter with the Pilot Newspaper in Abuja.

The deputy public Relations officer of the FCT Police Command, Omotayo Oduniyi who reacted to the incident, says the circumstances surrounding Yomi Kazeem’s death is still shrouded in controversies.

Although there are different accounts on the circumstances leading to Yomi’s death, accusing fingers are pointing to the direction of a couple who claimed that Yomi was drunk and broke the back pointer of their stationed BMW car in front of their shop.

The couple claimed Yomi was drunk on Thursday evening around 4pm while walking down their street in Lugbe, staggering and swerving as he walked.

They also claim that Yomi hit his head against the left back pointer of their stationary BMW car parked near their shop breaking it in the process.

While they admit that people around the neighborhood gathered and apprehended him and discovered he was drunk, another eye witness said over 50 people gathered at the scene.

Though it is unclear as to the circumstances surrounding Yomi’s death, the DPO, Lugbe police Division has told the couple that they have questions to answer as investigation continue on the matter.
