The Leader of Nineteen Northern States Chairmen of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, Rodney Nathan has threatened to provide evidence of how States Ministry of education officials are divert resources to fund their privately established schools.
Nathan was speaking in Abuja at the global response workshop on Privatisation and commercialisation Of Education.
Registrar of Teachers Council, Professor Josiah Ajiboye also revealed that only about twenty percent of private school teachers are qualified for the job.
Nathan’s allegation was echoed by Clinton, Ikpitibo, the coordinator of Global response on Privatisation and commercialisation Of schools and other Basic Education stakeholders
While the campaign on education for all thickens globally, the arguement among these stakeholders remains whether the Nigerian Government is still interested in better funding of public schools.
