Suspected terrorists operating in the forest area of Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State, have shot and killed Bara’u Dantudu, the Dandire ‘B’ ward Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

A source who confirmed the incident said, the attack occurred Thursday evening, while Dantudu was on his farmland.

When contacted for comments, the acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Salisu Uli, said “it is true,” promising to give more details later.

Police spokesman, Superintendent Gambo Isah, said he was not aware, but that he will find out from the Area Commander and revert.

This attack is coming less than some hours, after suspected unknown gunmen attacked a resident within the metropolis, precisely at the Katsina Steel Rolling Company Roundabout.

Aminu Darma was attacked after he was trailed from the bank where he went to cash some money at about 12:pm.

It was gathered that the gunmen shot Darma in the hand and made away with the money worth millions of Naira, while people nearby, took to their heels at the sound of repeated gunshots.

The victim has since been rushed to a facility where he is receiving and responding to treatment.

Superintendent Isah has confirmed the incident.

He said the police is investigating the surrounding circumstance of the alleged attack.

He is surprised that a state government official will carry huge sums without police escort.
